As time and technology develop, Indonesia has also become one of the countries in the world
present with electronic cigarette products which are increasingly popular among smokers and non-smokers throughout the world. One of the newest innovations in this industry is vaping.
Vape itself can be said to be present in the modern era. Entering Indonesia in early 2012, vape did not immediately become famous. However, with the development of time, vaping has become increasingly well known, especially because of its lower side effects. So, it's not too surprising that news about vaping spreads quite easily. In the early days, even though it was not yet booming, many Indonesians who had just returned from traveling abroad brought this unique tool. Along with the large number of requests, vape products are also being imported into the country.
Now, day by day, the number of vape users is increasing. And many of them form communities in their respective regions. Generally, the vape community gathers according to their respective schedules to discuss vape mods, liquids, and tricks that their members can play while enjoying the sensation of vaping.
This causes the demand for vapes on the market to increase, due to the increasing number of conventional cigarette users who want to switch to electronic cigarettes.
Based on a report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in March 2022 there will be 2.76% of the Indonesian population aged 21 years and over who usually consume e-cigarettes every day. If we look at the category of residence, urban areas have a larger population of e-cigarette consumers with a percentage of 2.81%, while in rural areas it is 2.7%. Then, if broken down by region, the highest proportion of e-cigarette consumers are in Jambi Province, with a percentage of 3.27%.
Many consumers of e-cigarettes are also found in West Java, Riau, East Java, Bangka Belitung Islands, West Sulawesi, Riau Islands, Banten, South Kalimantan and Bengkulu with percentages as shown in the graph.
